Arbequina is the second most planted olive variety in the world, but it comes originally from Spain, Catalonia region. This Arbequina Extra Virgin Olive Oil by Valderrama has been awarded in 2014 by NY100C with the Silver Award-North Hemisphere Non-Organic Monovarietal Delicate: "Aromas of ripe fruit, green grass, tomato and notes of flowers. Taste exhibits abundant fruitiness, green grass, sweetness, some bitterness, medium pugency and notes of tomato, with exceptional harmony, a high complexity, and a high persistence".
